How far along?
22 WeeksTotal weight gain/loss:
17 Pounds
Gender:
It's a Girl!! Still no name.
Size of baby:
She is about 11 inches long, and weighs about a pound.
Maternity clothes?
Yes Please!! Maternity pants are the most comfortable non-jammies there are. I'm still wearing some of my own shirts--the bigger ones--and a lot of Daddy's shirts. At home, I mostly lounge around in sweats. I was pretty sad the other day when I realized I can't fit into one of my favorite pairs of pajama pants.
Stretch marks?
None on my abdomen, but my, uh, Lady Bags? are starting to look like they should be in a National Geographic special.
Sleep:
No problems falling asleep, but once something wakes me up in the morning, I'm awake. I've banished Spencer to the crate, and I've just accepted that there is no more sleeping in for me.
Best moment this week:
She was moving around like crazy the other night. I was hoping Daddy would be able to feel her, but not so much.
Movement:
She is crazy in the evenings. Like I said, you can't feel it from the outside yet.
Food cravings:
I should probably buy stock in DQ, because I eat 3-4 Chocolate Extreme Blizzards every week. They just came out with the new Midnight Truffle Blizzard. Add the Midnight Truffle pieces to the Chocolate Extreme, and you have the ultimate pregnant chocoholic's dream snack...I think I'm going to have to head over to DQ soon...
Symptoms:
Round ligament pain (yeah, Google it. Not fun!), nosebleeds, sinus congestion, ankle swelling--no cankles yet, occasional pressure in my abdomen.
Belly Button: in or out?
Still in.
Rings: on or off?
Off at night and while I exercise, on the rest of the time.
What I miss:
Bleu cheese, wine, rolling over at night without being stabbed by round ligament pain.
What I am looking forward to:
Feeling her kick from the outside...and picking her name.

Will there be a name in the near future? Do we get to contribute?
ReplyDeleteAnd the lady bags comment? Hilarious. Mine look like that and I'm not pregnant. How sad is that?
That sweet baby needs a name!
ReplyDeleteI hope you plan on doing this often! It was cracking me up. Well, except for the round ligament thing...ouch!
She will have a name sometime before Daddy leaves for deployment in 2 weeks. We talked about some names the other night, but he had been a little over-served--he didn't like any of the names I mentioned, and then he started suggesting we name her things like "lighthouse" and "Bud Light Lime." I want to name her Macy. I would love for you to contribute! Suggestions are welcome...reading those baby name books makes me cross-eyed pretty quickly.
ReplyDeleteI will probably do the pregnancy posts every other week or so, since not much changes from week to week.
I was going to refer to them as "Fun bags," but "Lady Bags seemed less crude. I feel like they're smothering me, and they're supposed to get even bigger before the end. God help me.
Question--are you guys going to be teaching like into July now? It seems like you have a snow day at least once a week! So jealous!
Yeah--I kinda subscribe to the theory that I'll take days off whenever they give them to me--summer, spring, fall or winter. Unfortunately, my days off have been spent cleaning house, grading papers and doing laundry. So it's not all that glamorous (G-L-A-M...O-R-OUS...Sorry. Couldn't help myself).
ReplyDeleteNames, names. I like Macy. It's cute. I also like older, traditional names: Hazel, Ada (my grandmother's name), Ava, Evelyn (Evie), etc.
Your DQ comments make me want to drive to get some. Thanks... Anyway, you know I like Macy :) But I just read that it means "weapon"... hmmm...
